For most people prostitution is a murky world of dark streets and furtive assignments. It is a world in which the women, and sometimes the men, who are selling their bodies are regarded with a mixture of disgust, prurience and incomprehension. This is the story of the Magdalene Group, a Christian outreach to women working as prostitutes on the streets of Norwich, England. It's also the story of co-founder Theresa Cumbers, who despite austere beginnings, became a successful businesswoman before finding a new sense of fulfilment by setting up the Magdalene Group. The book aims to change people's attitudes to prostitution, showing what life is like for those women and showing that it is possible for them to break free of their past and begin a new life.
